South Africa Chapter Hosts ICTAS 2019: Information Communication Technology and Society

The third ICTAS 2019 Conference took place on 6–8 March 2019 in Durban, South Africa, where more than 90 delegates, representing academia, research institutes, and industry attended the event.
Both international and national organizations participated in the conference, which provided a venue for electrical and electronic engineers to exchange ideas, share their latest research contributions, network with their peers, gain continuing education opportunities, and most importantly, learn about the innovations and solutions to issues affecting human well-being. IEEE Computer Society Denver Chapter Will Host Distinguished Visitor in September
On 15 September 2018, Distinguished Visitor Dr. Mark Paulk will present “Software Project Management” at the University of Denver, Ritchie School of Engineering (RM 410).
Dr. Paulk, professor of software engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas, consultant and author, will lead a seminar structured around project management, customer relations management, decision-making, earned value, critical path, critical chain and agile methodologies. The presentation will examine the ways that, although effective project management is a prerequisite for meeting commitments, many software projects fail to meet customer expectations for budget, schedule, functionality, and quality.
Dr. Paulk will also touch upon project management as a fundamental requirement to achieve Level 2 against the Capability Maturity Integration (CMMI) for development or to be certified against ISO 9001. Continue…
