IEEE Computer Society New Class of Senior Members
The IEEE member grade of Senior Member is the highest for which application may be made. For admission or transfer to the grade of Senior Member, a candidate shall be an engineer, scientist, educator, technical executive, or originator in IEEE-designated fields for a total of 10 years and have demonstrated 5 years of significant performance. The IEEE Computer Society would like to congratulate the following members who were recently elevated to the grade of Senior Member.

Get to Know Hima Bindu
Hima Bindu, a 2017 Richard E, Merwin Student Scholar, is an undergraduate student in Computer Science and Engineering at Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering (SCTCE) which is part of the Kerala Technological University where she has been actively involved in various branch and inter-branch activities. Hima has served as the Secretary of the student branch and also as the Technical Committee member. She is the organizer and ambassador of “Project: The Confidence Code,” an initiative under IEEE Women in Engineering affinity group focused on bridging the confidence gap between genders. She won second place at the Global Short video contest conducted by IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology affinity group. Hima is also a core committee member of TEDx Thiruvananthapuram, the recipient of The Prime Minister’s scholarship for excellence in academics, the Director General’s Meritorious award in Academics, and an active organizer of events at her collegial fest. Get to Know Sanyam Goel
Sanyam is an undergraduate student in Information Technology at Bharati Vdyapeeth’s College of Engineering (BVCOE), New Delhi, and is the Vice Chair of the IEEE Student Branch of the BVCOE, Chair & founding member of the IEEE Computer Society Student Chapter at the university, and Event Coordinator for Fervour 9.0 and the Bharati Vdyapeeth IEEE Annual Technical and Managerial Fest 2016. In 2017, he received the Outstanding Student Volunteer Award from the IEEE Delhi Section. He won first prize in the Software Hackathon organized by the BVCOE Tech Fest 2016, second prize at the Netaji Subhas Insititute of Technology Software Hackathon and third prize at the competitive coding competition in BVEST, Annual Tech Fest at BVCOE. In the Fall of 2017 he added Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship recipient to his long list of accomplishments. Continue…
